Prof. HE’s academic opinions:

1. Emphasizing acupuncture and moxibustion based on differentiation of symptoms and signs, in the order of five steps: ① Positioning of Zang-Fu-Organs and meridians. ② Qualitative according to the characteristics of symptoms, pulse, and tongue. ③Positioning in qualitative combination. ④
Discussing the specimen. ⑤ Determine the treatment method.

2. The etiology, pathogenesis, and syndrome differentiation of the disease should be based on the disease's location, according to the meridians as the outline, using acupoints as the target, acupuncture, and applying moxibustion as the means, with the purpose of regulating yin and yang.

3. Applying traditional Chinese medicine theories to explain the main functions of acupuncture and moxibustion meridian points so that the main tasks of acupoints can be freed from the "empirical theory."

4. Making good use of the shallow needling method, arguing that the shallow needling method is suitable for treating superficial diseases and ideal for deficiency syndrome and visceral disorders.

5. Be good at applying Huatuo Jiaji acupoints, believing that Jiaji points can treat visceral diseases and brain diseases related to internal organs, limbs, hands, and feet.
